Beefmaster cattle are known for sturdiness and ability to thrive in adverse conditions. Although Beefmasters are typically thought of as warm-weather cattle, they can tolerate and survive in around zero temperatures with brutal wind chills and snow.
Beefmaster cattle are heat, drought and insect resistant and can thrive on limited forage and will gain weight easily without concentrate feeding. The breed were developed on what has become known as the six essentials; weight, conformation, milk production, fertility, hardiness and disposition.
Beefmaster cattle have three basic coat colours; black, brown and red, with the most common variant is brownish-red.
